the lates info from Janey about Suleiman was, that he was in speeches with the army, trying to save his skin

.....
My guess, he will be fine, mostly because of his knowledge about AQ and lots of stuff in the ME..

but I doubt that he will be in any position of power in the future egypt

funny thing is, if Mubarak hadn't appointed him as VP.. he might have had a good chance for being in power

Maybe Surlyman can stand for election. Let the people decide Nail Bite

Let's hope their future Parliament doesn't mirror the British model.

A Parliament full of career politicians, representing only themselves; big business and their Governments wishes.

Lying to get elected, breaking promises and ignoring the voice of the people.

Then five years later all change (transition?) to more of the same.

Democracy, same shit different name.

Streanght in numbers a short rant.

Yes there are strength in numbers. And we saw that today.

I can guarantee that anyone who saw what happened in Egypt over the last 2 weeks, has taken a moment and asked them self "could we do this here?"i know i did....for about ten seconds, then i realized that things here aren't bad enough to risk loosing what we already have, and for what?

Something that someone else thinks would be better for me?I think not.

I think each country has its own tipping point. When the lack of compassion or common sense will no longer be tolerated by its people, the people respond,in numbers.

I think with the world food and energy prices rising dramatically we will see more of this especially from countries with high unemployment and large populations.

Revolution is a crap shoot,a gamble only to be taken as a last resort.

I am however very happy for the People of Egypt, this was a prime example of what can be done when a population has taken all they can take.

thank you carry on.

In about an hour a new day will dawn in Egypt.

So many of those people we have watched and heard for the past 18 days have never lived under anything *but* Mubarak's regime.

Their knowldege of how things 'should' be done -- without corruption -- may come in large part from their respective faith traditions, and from knowledge of how other peoples throughout history have thrown off their shackles.

They seem to have found their own intrinsic brand of courage and forebearance.

They have set a new highwater mark for the very definition of civilisation itself.
