Sounds about right - just don't understand why Hassan Shehata is on the list (Head Coach of the Egyptian Natl. Soccer Team) - I respect this man. Will have to find out what he did. confused

4:15am The United States presses Egypt on reforms as anti-government protests continue unabated:

http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2011/02/20112101545960427.html

The embattled government of Egypt had not met even a minimum threshold of reforms demanded by the people of the country, the White House said on Wednesday, warning that massive protests will likely continue until real reforms are instituted.

In a sharp escalation of rhetoric with one of its most important allies in the Middle East, Robert Gibbs, president Barack Obama's spokesman, suggested that some Egyptian leaders thought they could wait out the protesters by offering up some concessions and assuming "life will return to normal."

"I think that's largely been answered by a greater number of people, representing a greater cross-section of Egyptian society, who have come out seeking their grievances to be addressed," Gibbs told reporters.

"And I think those are not likely to dissipate until the government takes some genuine steps."

Pro-democracy protests in Egypt have entered their third week.

Yup, been hearing this type of language all day. Seems some people are getting tired of the game the Regime is playing, all the while more and more people go out on the streets, now massive strikes...they are watching how the country is being steered into collapse, just because some guys are too dumb to realize their game is over.
Just now on Anderson Cooper the Prof. from the Hopkins Univ. for Intl. Studies (keep forgetting his name), said that the Regime is starting to crumble and definitely has lost on a moral ground already. Reason, they are attacking former members of the Regime and they keep making the same mistakes over and over again.
I think it's clear to everybody they're trying to hold on to power, expect the protesters to just give up so they can have business as usual.

When will they realize that won't happen? Until it's too late? And how long can or is the US willing to watch this? Not just the US I should say the whole international community.

Not allot we can really do on the front burner their! We didn't put the Big M in power in Egypt... That would be the killers of Sadat who get the credit! And the people of Egypt who let him Stay.....Yes we did do business with him...And with most of Egypt! And yes we will Support the People of Egypt in their Desires for Peace and Freedom! But every time we try to go in and help a People...Well it turns into a Bowl of Spaghetti without a fork!
So most Americans wont support any military intervention! Most Americans are so sick of places like Iraq and Afghanistan.... But their ARE other ways we can Help....And we are!

Well that particular parliament speaker is actually 100% right.

It is called blowback.

Is your AV a photo of a dead revolutionary when he was alive?

Nope that is Che after he was executed.

After I wrought that out I had the realization I may have to get rid of it...

I think most people would know he was dead, that may have been the last photo of him. Keep it until someone asks you to get rid of it.

And after I wrote* that I realized I made up a new word.

Yea I would like to have it, I really like it.

Actually you are right. He is NOT dead. Sorry I thought he was. I researched and found is just part of this photo:

http://blog.art-tistics.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dead_che.jpg

Notice his chest is not shot so he must have still been alive.

Sorry for the confusion, I think I will change the image back if it is alright.

5:55am Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit warns that the army, until now a mostly neutral force, would intervene if the protests escalated.

The official MENA news agency, paraphrasing Abul Gheit's interview with Arabic-language satellite television channel Al-Arabiya, said:

"If chaos occurs, the armed forces will intervene to control the country, a step... which would lead to a very dangerous situation."

Rural Egyptians add voices to demand for change

(Reuters) - Beyond Tahrir Square, beyond the boundaries of the sprawling capital, beyond even the provincial cities where protesters joined the call to topple President Hosni Mubarak, rural Egypt is restless for change.

Scraping a meagre living from the land, farmers and rural workers in Egypt's agricultural heartland have watched the largely urban uprising that has shaken the ruling system and many back the web-savvy youths who galvanised the nation.

A few have turned up in Cairo in their galabiyas, the robes worn in the fields, although most are too busy trying to feed their families. But many believe it is time for a new era, even if some think Mubarak should stay on a few months more.

this is an interesting account of the youth's tactics of using the internet, not to organize themselves but to fool and throw off the police of where they would demonstrate next....
